When creating a new article, e.g. 1971–72 Everton F.C. season, while it is perfectly acceptable to use another article as a template for layout, you shouldn't really copy and paste info across with the intention of overwriting with the new details later. If you can't fill in all the correct information in one edit, either do it in small stages or copy it elsewhere (e.g. your sandbox or a text file on your computer) and do the work there. It is misleading to have information for one season in a different article. I'm sure I've mentioned this to you before. Thanks. --Jameboy (talk) 23:25, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Based on your creation of 1969–70 Everton F.C. season, it seems you continue to ignore my request. Do you even read your talk page? --Jameboy (talk) 16:59, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi thanks for the advice. I have now been using the sandbox for Everton articles for the last 2 weeks--Pete Davis (talk) 17:47, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your kind reminder, It’s my fault. I confused Baseball-Reference.com with MLB’s related site by mistake. I reverted my edit already.(Special:diff/855575641)--Ch.Andrew (talk) 14:53, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Jameboy. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Salvio Let's talk about it! 11:45, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"7F15" listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect 7F15. Since you had some involvement with the 7F15 redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. Kleuske (talk) 13:46, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Simpson’s Production codes

[edit]

Production codes are stuff for the affikcionados, it took me a while to figure out what they were. I listed one of them at WP:RfD, to gage the opinion of other users, but I do not think these redirects are very helpful. Besides, the codes may be in use for other purposes, as they are hardly unique, which may result in a maze of dB-pages. Kleuske (talk) 13:50, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Jameboy, hope you're well and keeping safe. I've been working through Championship play-off final articles back from 2019 (I started with 2000 in all honesty, ITFC's glory in the sun against Barnsley) and every article I've worked on has been duff, but I'm now at the 2007 article which I note into which you had serious input. I've got a decent "template" for these articles up and running (something like a dozen GAs now) but I didn't want to stomp all over this one without at least inviting you to help/object etc? Take a look at any of the Championship play-off final pages post-2007 and let me know what you think. What I'd really like is for help on getting up to GAN. Anyway, I hope all is well and that you won't mind if I make some adjustments with (preferably) or without you to build this article up to GA status. Cheers. English Football League as a 'fully professional league'

[edit]

The English football league was far from 'fully professional' at that stage – see User:Bring back Daz Sampson/Professionalism in English football. There is a currently a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues to decide on a suitable cut-off date and at the moment consensus seems to be pointing to around 1958 (creation of Division Four) or 1961 (abolition of the maximum wage), although it's clear there were swathes of part-timer teams and players competing much more recently than this. If you have any fact-based contributions to the discussion we'd be pleased to consider them. Thanks, Bring back Daz Sampson (talk) 14:22, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree something has gone massively wrong! That's why the more knowledgeable editors we can bring to the discussion, the better our chances of finding a workable solution. Bring back Daz Sampson (talk) 14:40, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Premier League aggregate score record

[edit]

I know that, that's why I asked "so what?" Unfortunately, that user didn't seem to want to engage regarding the encyclopaedic merits of the content and ignored my question. If anyone could provide a reason to include it, I'd be open to it, but considering it's so hard to source, it's clearly not a stat that anyone particularly gives much of a damn about, and therefore doesn't have any place in that article. Cheers. – PeeJay 16:29, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Base running, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Philadelphia Quakers. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:07, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The page ELFC has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it was an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguated only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ended in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguated zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • was a redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that did not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review Liz Read!
